Watch out California.....here we come!

Well, I've been waiting about 4 years to take Soren to see the ocean....and it finally happened! I coordinated with some college friends of mine to take our four year old sons to Legoland and the beach this summer. We had the best time!! We stayed at a great hotel in Newport Beach, which was very close by my friends, Charity and Doug, who live in Corona Del Mar. The boys got along great....it was hard to believe that we all now have 4 year olds!! I'm hoping to go back to California every year with Soren.....he just loved the ocean!The whole gang at Legoland!!

Soren's Fourth Birthday.....Arrrrrgh

Soren turned 4 years old this summer, and we decided to celebrate up in Denver at my parent's house! He has been absolutely crazy about Pirates all year....so hence the Pirate cake and theme for the party. I even made his birthday cake.....turned out pretty good, I must say!!

I took off work for a week to just hang out and vacation in Denver. We had a great time going visiting with Stella, going to the Denver Zoo, movies, the park, and swimming at the new recreational center in Stapleton. Soren has become a lot easier to travel with now that he's four years old!! It was a great week!

Early Summer Fun!

We started off the summer with "Sesame Street Live". Soren was so excited....Grandma and I also had a great time! Soren just love Sesame Street......especially Cookie Monster!!I heard from some friends about Sandia Lakes and how they had remodeled the whole place. Soren and I checked it out first one morning, then decided to bring the whole family back the next time. Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Bruce all joined in! Unfortunately....we didn't catch any fish :( Everybody gave it their best shot to catch a fish for Soren....luckily a nice "stranger" caught a fish and let Soren reel it in!! Very nice man!!

Soren got his 4 year old check up this year, with a bunch of shots!! It was not pleasant, but necessary. When we got home, Salvador got his checkup too from our very own vet....Soren!

Skiing this year

This year I only got to ski about 2 times, but both times were great! Earlier in the year I went to Vail, CO and we had a great time. Very cold and pretty much a white out at the top of the mountain....but we were in Vail...so can't complain too much:) Last weekend I took Soren up to Santa Fe, NM to see if he liked skiing. He took an all day lesson, called "Little Chipmunks". Soren had a blast! He kept asking me if we could come back again the following weekend. We checked on him periodically throughout the day, and Soren was always outside skiing. By the end of the day he was the only 'Lil Chip' who was still skiing! Only downside to the trip was learning that Soren gets car sick on the way up the mountain....no fun.

Super Hero Soren!

Soren is in love with wearing and making capes to look like a Super Hero! I even had a nurse at my office make Soren some capes...since I'm not so talented in the sewing department :) She made him a fireman one that he keeps at his Dad's place, and Soren has a Pirate one that he has at our house! They are so cute, and he loves running around the house in them. Soren even makes his favorite blanket into one.
